Welcome to Terre Haute Breastfeeding Moms
Many people have heard that breastfeeding is a simple and natural process - but when you first start out, it can be overwhelming! Breastfeeding moms may need support, information on the correct positioning of the baby at the breast, going back to work and continuing to breastfeeding, avoiding problems and overcoming difficulties, nursing while pregnant, and more. Knowing other women who have breastfed their babies can be helpful and reassuring. Terre Haute has many options that can help you. Both Breastfeeding USA and La Leche League can help. LLL of Terre Haute and Breastfeeding USA-Terre Haute Chapter can provide accurate, up-to-date information about breastfeeding. Attending their meetings can help you learn about breastfeeding from other nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns, but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Being a part of La Leche League and Breastfeeding USA can give you the network of support you need.
Terre Haute is lucky enough to have a number of experienced leaders. We have two La Leche League Leaders (Rachael and Laura) and four Breastfeeding USA counselors (Devon, Jennifer, Kaydie, and Sharon). These six experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies (21 babies and counting!). Rachael and Laura have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International, and Devon, Sharon, Kaydie, and Jennifer have been trained and accredited by Breastfeeding USA, to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. We are both available by phone or email whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns. Please see our "Leader" page for phone numbers and email addresses.

Come to any of the monthly meeting for face-to-face support! Terre Haute is lucky enough to have THREE monthly meetings now in 2017. Meetings take place at the Vigo County Public Library in their basement meeting rooms. All three of the meetings, whether LLL or Breastfeeding USA, focus on helping mothers in a supportive environment.
Our morning meeting is held the first Friday of the month at 10:00 am. This is a Breastfeeding USA meeting.
Our second morning meeting is held the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am. This is a Breastfeeding USA meeting.
Our evening meeting is held the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm. This is sometimes a LLL series meeting or a Breastfeeding USA meeting, depending on the leader for the night.
Babies and young children are always welcome at our meetings as well as all women interested in breastfeeding. We encourage pregnant moms to come to learn more about breastfeeding and have a support system already in place! These meetings are a great place to meet other breastfeeding mothers and get more information and encouragement to nurse your baby. You may attend any of our meetings.
